Since 2000 the official currency is US Dollar.
This stabilised the currency, but wiped out the savings of the middle classes and precipitated mass emigration.

Environment.
The source of the Amazon and the Islands of the Galapagos are part of Ecuador.
Ecuador has an outstanding reputation in preserving it’s nature, flora and fauna.

Minorities.
The voice of protest against the mainstream political parties, whom have been condemned for corruption, has channelled into organised political pressure groups.

Not a Banana Republic.
Ecuador has been always good at developing their own natural resources and selling them to the world. Chocolat beans, oil, shrimps, flowers, bananas, etc.

People.
Its main resource: People, more than 12'000.000 ecuadorians working to strengthen their Nation and its democracy.
