FOOD SAFETY

In recent years, consumers have shown a growing interest in knowing where their food comes from and how it was produced.

At Bonita North America, Food Safety has been a top agenda item for over half a century. Quality management, traceability, residue monitoring, risk assessment and consumer relations are the protocols on which Bonita is based.

On the farm, field inspectors ensure that fruit is harvested only when stringent quality standards are met. At the port of embarkation inspectors conduct quality evaluations prior to the loading of the vessel as well as at discharge in North American ports. All reports from our inspectors are communicated to the producers so this constant monitoring ensures that the best selection of fruit is available at all times.

Traceability ensures we monitor the Bonita product throughout the supply chain. Our traceability system is compliant with the General Food Law 178/2002.

At Bonita, residue monitoring at the North American port-of-discharge is an on-going FDA inspection protocol to ensure that all Bonita products fulfill the current United States guidelines.
