History

1985
Pacific Fruit, Inc. introduced the RICA brand to the West Coast. It was the first successful totally integrated pallet operation in North America. Distribution from our port-of-entry in Long Beach, CA. ranged north to Alaska and south to the Mexican border, east to Denver and as far west as Guam

Pacific Fruit, Inc. combines the two North American labels Bonita (commercial label on the East Coast) & Rica, uniting the company under one strong nationally recognized Bonita Label. By now Pacific Fruit Inc. was expanding into diversified products. The West Coast operation developed a small, but very profitable, Bonita mango program from Ecuador. This is now a worldwide program, with sourcing from Ecuador, Peru and Mexico.

1993

This innovative product established the banana category for one of the world's largest retailers; and, it also led to the successful design and implementation of the industry's first-ever consumer-friendly one-piece banana display box.
